Should be zero stars or a negative. LEONA Groups Vista Groove preparatory academy used to be great, oh but how they have fallen.
4 principles in 2 years, countless teachers quitting this year and last. Substitute teachers who are rude to the children and blame the lack of teachers on the "horrible kids." Yes, the substitute said that to the whole class just before we decided to withdraw our child.
Bus issues, broken down and no bus service or bus running an hour late getting kids home, with no communication that the bus is late. The school and the Leona group talk a good game but have never followed up on complaints and concerns, even when voiced to a Leona group representative in person and who promised a follow-up call that never happened.
We are now homeschooling, and my daughter has made more progress in 4 weeks than she did in the whole last year of 4th grade at Vista Grove. No report cards, no parent teacher conferences. There is no info at all on our students' progress.
To be completely honest, the current principal is a major part of the problem. Parents do talk to each other and talk with the teachers outside of the school day. It's amazing to hear what they have had to say, and that was a Big influence in moving on. Vista Grove DOES NOT have your child's best interests in mind. The money they spend on outside school events would be better served if invested in quality staff and responsible administration. my kindergartener would have been joining them next year also, their loss. If you truly care about your child's education and future, Vista Grove is NOT the school to take them to, nor would I think about any another Leona Group school based on a lack of communication and cooperation with parents.
